Why Shouldn’t This Be The Moment?

Little boy about to stop in puddle of fountain
What Are You Waiting For?
Now!

In his book “The New Earth” Eckhart Tolle suggests that we usually have 3 responses to the NOW. It’s either a means to an end, an obstacle or even–the enemy.

The new testament definition of faith is “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

What if this very NOW had within it everything you truly wanted and it was just a matter of learning to release the substantive reality contained in the NOW into your awareness. Then with your will and imagination you can shape that liberated energy into “the substance of things hoped for.”

As we show up and pay closer attention to what is immediately before us, (even if it’s planning for the future)– if we can stay focused, remain quiet, receptive and expectant, miraculous things can occur. And that is what “expectant faith” is all about!

This really works. It just takes practice.

Here is a poem that I wrote that kind of sums up the process.
It’s called, “The Creator” After you read it (recommended–at least twice), I invite you to listen to the following song and give yourself the opportunity to take in this “one-of-a-kind moment.” Not only will this moment never happen again, but it actually never stops.

I jumped aside a moment today
And found to my surprise
A glittering gem on the sidewalk…
an unobserved creature trembling with brilliance
and unquenchable insides.

I jumped outside time today
and felt a vagabond image
hovering in the air
waiting to be realized

I stood apart from space today
peering inside
to the undercurrents of unrecognized conclusions;
…possible actuals
that exist between the unseen
and the underside of…
what is.

I backed away from traffic today
of the sequence of events
connecting one expectation to another…
and discovered a kernel-embryo
slinking in a crevice
dying…
for attention

So, I pulled it out with my mind
noticed it
and gave it life.

If I hadn’t stepped aside today,
little gems would go unnoticed,
invention unrealized,

…and poems never written
